Windows OS ignores your RAM

Currently, Windows OS have a problem "seeing" all memory, when there is more that 4GB of RAM on the system they are running on. To change this idiotic behavior, add /PAE to the boot.ini, like so (the disk line might differ on your installation):

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Windows XP" /PAE

After reboot, Windows should see all your available RAM.

To see your boot.ini you will have to tell Windows explorer to show hidden and system files. You will also have to change the +S flag to -S, on the properties of the file itself.
